This project did not arrive from a preliminary idea. Rather, it shaped itself when I was editing footage I had filmed during a trip through India in 2009. Everything I had encountered and filmed gave birth to the idea. The more the idea found its shape, the more directions I found to edit and film new elements; it are these series of actions and reactions that is the most interesting aspect of the project.
This is not the first film project that lends its name from that part of Indian mystics dealing with elements. For me, Elements is the artistic expression of the interactions between content, meaning, language, interpretation, and thus the personal view fitted into the cultural encounter. I find this still to be a quite underestimated subject, that could change a lot of what is still taken for granted within daily encounters, intellectual and philosophical expressions, and within sciences as well.
